Questions about Parkinto
Cameras, detection, privacy, integrations and billing — 38 answers in one place.
Getting started and trial
Yes — 14 days from registration, with no credit card required to start. Statistics is free during the trial.
If you saved a card during the trial, the licence converts to paid when the trial ends and is billed monthly from that day. If you did not save a card, the cameras are paused; your sites, marked spaces and history stay, and detection resumes once you add a card.
Our service desk is available from 9 AM to 5 PM CET on business days.
Cameras and installation
No. Almost any IP camera is suitable — the Parkinto system works only with image data. If you are unsure which camera to choose, the Hikvision DS-2CD2045FWD-I suffices for the vast majority of uses.
Yes. The camera must be static, and you need to provide access to the current image data.
HD (1280×720) is enough. Use Full HD (1920×1080) where spaces are far from the camera. There is no hard lower limit: we have completed a project with an old VGA (640×480) camera.
The main rule: if you can recognize the occupancy with your own eyes from that position, Parkinto can do it as well. Mount the camera as high as the site allows — a street light pole at 5–6 m is ideal. The camera must be static; PTZ cameras that move are not suitable.
Outdoors typically 25–35 spaces, up to about 100 with a high mounting point and a good angle. Indoors in a garage 5–25. With licence plate reading, 3–5.
HTTP(S), FTP, RTSP, RTSP.me, MJPEG and YouTube live. The camera or recorder must be reachable from the cloud, or it can push snapshots out, in which case no inbound access is needed.
Detection and accuracy
99.7% in everyday operation — Parkinto’s own continuous measurement on live installations (cars and boats): the share of reported space states that match a person checking the same camera images. An independent audit by the Czech Technical University in Prague (Faculty of Transportation Sciences) measured an earlier version at 99.4%. Rule of thumb: if a person can see from the camera image whether a space is taken, Parkinto can too. Accuracy improves over the first weeks on a given car park.
Yes. At night the camera’s own infrared illumination is used. Rain, snow and fog are fine as long as the vehicles stay visible in the image; the camera needs a weatherproof (IP66) housing.
Because it lets you use any inexpensive camera, the models improve centrally for everyone, and adding a camera is a configuration change rather than a hardware purchase.
Per space. Each space is drawn once as a polygon and reported individually, so you know which spaces are free — not only how many. Zones that only count vehicles are possible on gravel and unmarked lots.
Yes. The portal shows how long each space has been occupied and highlights spaces over the maximum stay you set for the car park. No licence plate reading is needed.
No. The car park’s occupancy is reported for regular spaces; disabled, EV and private spaces are shown separately and the Statistics add-on breaks usage down by type.
Yes, included in the licence. Plates are read on cameras placed 4–8 m from the spaces (one camera covers 3–5 spaces) and passed to your system through the API; Parkinto does not store them.
Privacy and data
The Parkinto system is designed in accordance with GDPR. Compliance is confirmed in writing by ÚOOÚ, the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection. No image data is persistently stored or archived.
Each image is processed to determine occupancy. Images and video are not archived — only the latest frame is kept for your portal view. Licence plates are not stored — they are only passed on through the API. All processing takes place in the EU.
Developed in the Czech Republic and operated in the Czech Republic and Belgium — both in the EU and subject to GDPR.
Occupancy history and statistics are kept for the lifetime of the account and are not deleted automatically. Camera images are never stored.
Integrations
Yes. We provide a documented REST API and webhooks that notify your system whenever the car park changes — a car arrives, a car leaves, a space is freed.
Not directly. We provide an API for integrating signs from any manufacturer. We are fully integrated with the Czech manufacturer Tetronik.
Pricing and billing
Parkinto Detection costs $69 per camera per month; the optional Statistics add-on is $89 per parking site per month (USD, VAT included where applicable). There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Projects with 20+ cameras get individual Enterprise pricing — contact info@parkinto.ai. Parkinto Marina is priced per marina after a demo.
Per camera. Outdoors one camera typically covers 25–35 spaces, so a monitored space usually works out between $1.97 and $2.76 a month. With a high mounting point and a clear view one camera can cover up to about 100 spaces.
Statistics is free during the trial. After it, $89 a month is charged for each parking site where the add-on is still switched on. Switch it off on a site and it is no longer billed for that site.
Monthly in advance by card through Stripe, in USD. The listed prices are final, with VAT included where applicable: VAT is currently charged only to customers in the Czech Republic and is already part of the price. All other customers pay the listed price with no VAT added.
Only the pro-rated part up to the end of the current billing period is charged.
The unused part is credited against your next invoice. If you switch everything off and there is no next invoice, the remaining time simply runs out — it is not refunded.
Switch the cameras off in the portal; there is no notice period. The subscription runs to the end of the period you already paid for and you can switch the cameras back on until then at no extra cost.
Volume and multi-year pricing on request, agreed individually from 20 cameras. There is no published discount.
No. The subscription covers the software service. Cameras, their installation and connectivity are yours or your installation partner’s; our partners can handle them.
Card is standard. Invoice billing is part of the Enterprise offer from 20 cameras.
Parkinto Marina
Software that tracks berth occupancy, manages reservations, automates billing and grows revenue. Parkinto does it with AI camera detection instead of manual rounds or sensors in the water.
A standard IP camera sends an image, roughly every 30 seconds. The AI finds every boat in it and matches it to the berths you marked once on the image, so each berth is reported free or occupied in real time. No sensors, no specialised hardware.
Yes. The same camera-based detection works for marina berths, port moorings and mixed waterfront facilities. The Port of Rab in Croatia runs 214 berths on 24 cameras.
No. Captains reserve, check in, check out and pay through a mobile web page. Nothing to download.
No. Standard IP cameras, existing or new. One well-placed camera can watch up to about 100 berths, depending on height and angle.
Per marina, by the number of berths, the cameras you need and the services you bill through the system. There is no public list price — we prepare a proposal after a demo.
